Welcome to Brian's Webpage

About Me

I made this website because I wanted to have a professional sounding email address.   This may seem like overkill but apparently there are a lot of people named Brian Hall in the world who also wanted this.  Every single combination of my first, last and middle name to the point of ridiculousness is taken on gmail, so this seemed like a logical solution.  I also thought it would be fun to try my hand at a little HTML and CSS, as well as showcase some of my endeavors.

I am currently entering the final year of my undergraduate at McMaster University.  At the end of this year I will finish with two bachelor’s degrees: a BA in music and a B.Eng in mechatronics.  Mechatronics is a great stream to be in because it allows me to take the core courses of Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineering and emerge with a very well rounded talent base.  I am very interested in every part of product development, especially embedded system design and this program has taught me a lot.  My academic accomplishments have enabled me to take part in an accelerated M.Eng in mechatronics at McMaster and I am currently taking two graduate level courses so that I would only need one year to finish the M.Eng.

Music was also an excellent program in that it let me take a lot of electives all around the university.  When I started university I had no idea what I wanted to do and this program let me figure it out while honing my abilities at a couple instruments.  My studies led to my current part-time job as a navy reserve musician which has allowed me to tour eastern Canada with the National Band of the Navy Reserve.  I am also part of a jazz combo that frequently plays at weddings and banquets.

My greatest passion is making, and that my greatest strength is creativity.  I feel happiest when I am working on something unique, acquiring knowledge or formulating pieces of a project that eventually will exist as something I can look at proudly later on.  I am a musician and an inventor.
